1 Imperial College London

Ranked in the 7th international position, Imperial College London is a well-known international university with a strong reputation for excellence in teaching and research in sciences, medicine, business and engineering. Formed in July 1907 out of the Royal College and South Kensington, Imperial become independent of the University of London only in 2007.

2 University College London (UCL)
UCL is ranked 8th in the 2022 QS World University Rankings. Founded in 1826, under the name of London University, UCL is often ranked as one of the best in the world for the quality of both its research and its teaching. UCL is London’s leading multidisciplinary university. More than 150 diversities are represented by a student body. UCL also made higher education affordable and accessible to a much broader section of society. It was also one of the first university in England to welcome students from any religions, and also to welcome women on equal term with men. Some of the most famous alumni are Alexander Graham Bell, the telephone inventor, who studied there in 1868; and Kathleen Lonsdale, the UCL crystallography researcher who attended the university in 1936. In 1949, she became the UCL's first female professor ever.

3 King’s College London

King's College London was established in 1829 within the tradition of the Church of England by King George IV and Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. King’s is ranked 35th in the international position. They have a distinguished international reputation in humanity sciences, law, science, psychiatry, medicine, dentistry, nursing, and the social sciences. Its four Thames-side campuses in Central London, and in Denmark Hill, puts him in the centre of leading global debates in policy, government, culture, religion, business and medicine. King’s has his own financial and academic autonomy since 1994, while remaining a part of the University of London. And since 2008, it has awarded its own degrees.
4 The London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE)

Created in 1895, The London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE) was founded by Sidney Webb, his wife Beatrice Webb, Graham Wallas, and the writer George Bernard Shaw. The university has always been welcoming both men and women and students across the world, from the very beginning. The school was committed to provide :
"scientific training in methods of investigation and research".
For the 2022 ranking, LSE reach the 49th international ranking.

5 Queen Mary University of London

Queen Mary University has a long history built on four historic institutions that go back to the year 1785, such as : the St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, the London Hospital Medical College, the Westfield College and the Queen Mary College. It is only in 1887 that the establishment will be named the "Queen Mary University", named after Mary of Tech, the wife of King George V, Sir Lynden Macassey. All these four buildings were created to improve the life of people who had fewer privileges. In 1887, Queen Victoria opened The People’s Palace Technical Schools (first name of the Queen Mary College), a place that provides education for students from different backgrounds and it promotes diversity. Nowadays, areas of studying are diverse such as History, Economics and Finance, Drama or Film. The Queen Mary University reaches the 117th international position in the 2022 ranking.
